Memorial Day weekend… the start of summer and the start of al fresco dining season. This weekend, grills will be fired up everywhere, as what most people consider to be the official start of grilling season begins. We have three outdoor cookouts to attend this weekend, each requesting that we bring something to grill, a side dish and a dessert. I am still contemplating what to bring for all of them, but I thought I would share with you my menu ideas for a few of them.

Friday Night:

Friday night we are going to a neighborhood block party. I have been craving a great, grilled burger all week long, so for the party on Friday we will be taking my favorite… Cheddar Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers. For a side, I think I’ll stick to a popular standby of Easy Cheesy Potatoes. There are so many versions of this out on the web, but this version is one of my favorites. Dessert will be one of my most requested cakes to make.. Irish Cream Bundt Cake. If you make this, take extra copies of the recipe with you because people will be requesting it every time you turn around!

Saturday:

Saturday is a smaller affair, and my husband will be one of the guys grilling. My recipe for Simply Salmon is easy to grill and tastes better than any restaurant salmon I’ve had. For a side, I’ll have my husband grill up something delicious. Vidallia Onion Bake is a low calorie dish that is very tasty! For dessert, I plan on trying a recipe Sarah from Chicken Huppy submitted to me for Pineapple Carrot Cake. I will opt for the frosting, but it sounds like it will be delicious either way!
